Cinderella Man

During the Great depression, it caused many families to face incredibly hard times. Due to the crash in the stock market it caused many men to lose their jobs, this making it hard for people to provide for their families. The lack of income caused many people to have to downsize their homes from comfortable houses to small cramped apartments or trailers.

Moreover, the lack of income also led to families not having enough money to feed their kids and themselves. This often times resulted in children and adults stealing from stores and other people just to be able to provide. Often times to try and avoid this people had to go and get relief money to help them get by. Also, when parents are having a really hard time it usually resulted in the kids being sent to live with relatives who are better off economically.

This act gave the FDIC the control of money and official banking systems in the US.

-SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission):

-TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority):
This was used to modernize the area and make it more usable for people.

-SSA (Social Security Act):
The act was an attempt to limit what was seen as dangers in the modern American life, including old age, poverty, unemployment, and the burdens of widows and fatherless children.

-NLRA (National Labor Relations Board):
This act  a foundational statute of US labor law which guarantees basic rights of private sector employees to organize into trade unions, engage in collective bargaining for better terms and conditions at work, and take collective action including strike if necessary.

-WPA (Works Progress Administration):

War Updates

-What changes occurred when war began?
-What was it like for people on the home front and soldiers at war?
-What was life like for soldiers? Where did they sleep? How did they move around?
-What was the fighting like and where did it take place?
-What weapons were employed in the fighting?
What else should Americans know as they decide to enter the war?

The Great War brought on many changes on the world. The economy is starting to plummet, and things start to become hard for everyone.  People are sad watching their sons go, and people are scared going into war. Life was hard for the soldiers, with poor conditions, low supplies and separation from their families put a serious strain on families. Fighting in trenches and on open fields, war combat was brutal. They used poisonous gases and gas the trenches. They should know that it is not pretty, and that deaths are very common. And that even after they leave the war, if they do make it out, it is going to be very hard to deal with.
